Gemini 3 crew on launch day

On the morning of the Gemini-3 launch, astronauts Gus Grissom (left) and John Young are shown on their way to breakfast after spending the night in the crew quarters in the Manned Spacecraft Operations Building on Merritt Island. The Gemini crew was awakened at 4:40 a.m. by Deke Slayton, assistant director for Flight Crew Operations, Manned Spacecraft Center.
