Apollo 10 spacecraft is mated to Saturn 505 launch vehicle

An overhead crane within the Vehicle Assembly Building hoists Apollo 10 spacecraft 106 above transfer aisle in preparation for mating to Saturn 505 launch vehicle in High Bay 3. The 363-foot- high space vehicle is to launch Apollo 10 Astronauts Thomas P. Stafford, John W. Young and Eugene A. Cernan on a lunar voyage in which Stafford and Cernan are to descend in the lunar module to an altitude of 50,000 feet above the Moon's surface. (Source: KSC)
