Apollo 14 mission commander during suiting up activities

Apollo 14 Mission Commander Alan B. Shepard, Jr., appears relaxed during suiting activities for his launch to the Moon with Astronauts Stuart A. Roosa and Edgar D. Mitchell. Liftoff took place today at 4:03 p.m. EST from the Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39A. The nine-day- mission is designed to return new information about the early history of the Moon, Earth and solar system. (Source: KSC)
